I attended a fascinating exhibition at the New York Public Library exploring the changes that have taken place in the eating habits of New Yorkers over the past hundred years. There is a lot to see from the Pushcarts to the Power Lunches .
I had no idea the library had such an extensive menu collection some of which they have on display. There is a transcription project underway and they are looking for volunteers http://menus.nypl.org/.
Here is an interesting sandwich board. Apparently there is something called the Pizza Principle whereby the cost a a pizza slice is close to the price of a subway ride.
